Ulster Fry
♡
Did you know?
What sets an Ulster Fry apart from an English full breakfast is the soda bread and potato farls, both native to Northern Ireland. Potato bread is made with mashed potato and flour, giving it a uniquely dense, soft texture.
Method
1. Heat a large frying pan or griddle over medium heat with a knob of butter.
2. Add sausages first — cook turning occasionally 10-12 minutes until cooked through.
3. Add bacon rashers and cook 2-3 minutes each side.
4. Cut soda bread and potato bread into triangles. Fry in the same pan 1-2 minutes each side until golden.
5. Halve tomatoes and cook cut-side down 3-4 minutes. Add mushrooms alongside.
6. Fry or poach eggs to your preference — yolks traditionally runny.
7. Arrange everything on a warmed plate, season and serve immediately.
